prāyeṇālpāyuṣaḥ sabhya kalāv asmin yuge janāḥ |
mandāḥ sumandamatayo mandabhāgyā hy upadrutāḥ ||
śrīdharaḥ : anye’pi bahunā kālena bahu-śāstra-śravaṇādibhir viniśscinvantu nety āhuḥ—prāyeṇeti | he sabhya sādho ! asmin yuge kalāv alpāyuṣo janās tatrāpi mandā alasās tatrāpi sumanda-matayas tatrāpi manda-bhāgyā vighnākulās tatrāpy upadratā rogādibhiḥ ||10||
Translation
One may says that one may understand the ultimate welfare of life by studing many scriptures for long time.
So Vyāsadeba says savhya means O saintly person in this age of kali peoples are alpāyuṣaḥ means they have short life expectency. And more than that peoples are lazy in this age.
And also they are ill advised, unlucky and sufferd from diseaes.
